Pickin' and Thinkin'

I had a quiet moment after the family went to bed and tried "talking to myself" on video. Perhaps this is what Dean Shareski meant by a talking head video.

At any rate, just basic reflections of the moment about learning and trying to keep up.

  1. Yeah, pretty much a talking head video. But still has value.

A great way to introduce yourself to me. A 7 minute video might tell me more than reading 7 blog posts of yours.

A couple of thoughts for you.

-Yes, keep commenting, staying with it to develop a network. At some point the network shifts from purely information to relationships with smart people. That's when it really gets cooking. (found your link via technorati)

-The balance part is tough because learning, and socializing becomes addictive. Do what you're doing. Make family time, family time and don't worry about what you might miss.

-You might try introducing some aspects of a Brian Crosby type classroom into yours, but it makes most sense when you really get how and why you use it. Then you can introduce it effectively to kids.

    All the best.
